About Us

We are a community Interest company (non-for-profit) We believe everyone who attends IDS has the right to receive the ‘highest quality services’ possible and we aim to ensure we have a ‘Person Centred Approach & deliver programmes to meet each individuals need.

We are an Open Awards Accredited service.

Our service is a ‘Fully Inclusive’ disability service.

We provide 'Fully Inclusive' Disability Services across the borough of Wigan and neighbouring authorities. Our services empower individuals & enable them to play a positive & active part within their local community.

Our Activities & Sessions

We offer an Extensive Menu of activities for anyone with Learning/ Physical Disabilities, Autism, or Mental Health Support Needs. We offer an Extensive Menu of activities for anyone with Learning/ Physical Disabilities, Autism, or Mental Health Support Needs.

We offer activities/experiences which are designed to stimulate & engage individuals and ensure each person reaches their full potential regardless of their disability.

You can access IDS via any Council Commissioned services, Direct Payments & Personal Budgets or Self-Funding.

Our Changing Facilities & Mobility Vehicles

We provide ‘Full Changing facilities’ at both sites for anyone requiring ‘personal care’. All staff have Full driving licences and appropriate Insurance to drive both works vehicles and individuals’ mobility vehicles.

We offer both Building and Community Based Activities, the range is vast from Canal boat trips, Bowling, Cinema, Golf, Gym, Archery, Inclusive Boxing, Café & Pub visits, Parks, Local walks, Southport, Blackpool, Rhyl, Cadburys Chocolate Factory, Harry Potters Cafe – the list is endless …. We love everyone to have a new experience.

Our Kitchen Café

We have our very own ‘Kitchen Café’ we offer varied menu - Cheese & Ham Toasties, Wraps, Jacket potatoes & choice of filling etc… anyone who come s to IDS and wants to learn catering skills can access this – we teach all aspects of catering skills – shopping, peeling & chopping, cooking, baking, waiting on & monetary skills.

We offer a fully inclusive ‘Gaming Club’ every month on a Saturday – Our Gaming Club offers a Safe, Friendly environment where people with disabilities who have the same Gaming interests can meet up & enjoy all aspects of Gaming & Socialising

We set up a small enterprise for people with disabilities “Flat Pack Furniture Assembling” service – they will assemble ANY item of ‘Flat Pack’ furniture. They specialise in IKEA, Argos, Next & many more…. It can be for home, office, business - We pick up & drop off for a small charge - ‘NO JOB TOO SMALL’
